She was born Jan. 8, 1913, in Moulton, to the late Frank and Frances Kahanek Darilek. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors: daughters, Virgilie Ann Simper of Cuero, Mary Ann Havel and Jeanne Marie Michalec both of San Antonio and Danielle Marie Vana of Katy; sons, George Simper of Shiner, Willie Simper of Gonzales, and David Simper of Moulton; sisters, Martha Othold of Shiner, Lucy Schoenfeld of Moulton, Frances Faldyn of Brenham, and Marian Bolech of Victoria; brother, Frankie U. Darilek of Shiner; 24 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by: husband, William A. Simper; and brothers, Edward E. Darilek, Ben Darilek, August Darilek, Ernest Darilek, Leroy Darilek, and Leonard Derilek. A rosary was recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Services were Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rev. Gabriel Maison officiating. Burial followed at Moulton Catholic Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home, Moulton, 361-596-4631. Pallbearers: Donald Michalec, Michael Simper, James Simper, Patrick Michalec, Trevor Simper, Jamie Vana.
