Bio

Edward H. Wertish 12 Sep 1944 – 24 Dec 2025 Edward H. Wertish, age 81, of Redwood Falls, MN, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, at River Valley Health & Rehabilitation. Born on September 12, 1944, on a farm in Henryville township, Renville County, Minnesota, Edward touched countless lives over the years with his warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his craft and family. On November 29, 1969, Edward was united in marriage with Theresa Goblirsch at St. Anne's Church in Wabasso, MN. Edward was an active member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. As a self-employed carpenter, Edward enhanced his skills while working for various contractors in the Olivia, Redwood, and Wabasso area. His craftsmanship was evident not only in the structures he built but also in the many dog houses and birdhouses he poured his heart into, creating beautiful homes for both pets and nature alike. For several years, he enjoyed hauling beets, a testament to his strong work ethic and love for the land. Edward was more than just a craftsman; he was a man of many passions. He found joy in camping, woodworking, and nurturing his extensive toy collection. Known for his ingenuity, he delighted in fixing used items such as broken wagons, creating treasures that he would then sell at his own garage sales. His keen eye at auctions was legendary among his friends, as he sought out unique items and hidden gems. Edward was preceded in death by his loving parents, Edward S. and Marie (Goblish) Wertish, his brother Joseph Wertish, and sisters Dorothy Borth and Rose Anne Lee, brothers-in-law, Daniel Borth and John Lee, and the family and friends who gone before him that shared meaningful moments with him throughout his life. Edward's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, a gentle reminder of the importance of family, craftsmanship, and the simple joys of life. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will always remain alive in the memories shared and the love he cultivated in his community. May he rest in peace.
