She was born on Nov. 15, 1919, in Gurley, Neb., the daughter of John and Adella (Doremus) Quick. When June was at a very young age, the family moved to Polk, Neb., where she attended school. She spent much of her time at the family home helping to raise her siblings. On July 19, 1937, she married George Wunder Jr. in Lingle, and the couple made their home there, farmed in the area and raised their children. In the early 1960s, June went to work as the assistant cook at the Lingle Public Schools, where she remained for six years. She then went on to cook for the Lingle Senior Center for the next six years. And finally, there was time for June to return to school and earn her GED. She and her husband sold the farm in 1979 and retired, moving into Lingle where they made their home until George's death in 1991. June then moved to Torrington in 1993, and in 2004 she moved into the Goshen Care Center. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing and gardening. She was a member of the Quilting Club and Lingle Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her three daughters, Betty Lapp of Torrington, Kathleen Ford and husband John of Phoenix, Ariz., and Joy Varney and husband Mike of Torrington; two sons, Jerry Wunder and wife Sherry of Cheyenne, and Daniel Wunder and wife Kayleen of Fort Laramie; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don Loveland of Pine Bluffs and Charles Loveland of Watkins, Colo.; and two sisters, Dorothy Strohmen of Worland and Beverly Smith of Hanna.
