Bio
Richard A. Ruzicka, 82, of Grand Island, passed away on September 2, 2025, at his home. Per his wishes, cremation was chosen and a private family burial will take place at a later date. Richard was born on February 23, 1943, in Central City, to Louis and Mary (Kocian) Ruzicka. He was raised and received his education in the Central City area. After high school, Richard enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1964. On May 28, 1964, Richard was united in marriage to JoAnn Ogden. Four children were born into this union. Richard worked for Hornady Manufacturing for 48 years until his retirement in 2013. In his younger years, Richard played guitar for the Bill Hunnicutt band. He enjoyed taking his family camping at the lake. In his later years, he could often be found doing lawn care. Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 61 years, JoAnn; children, Brian (Teresa) Ruzicka, Mark (Denise) Ruzicka; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Pat Barr; and brother, John (Judy) Ruzicka. Richard was preceded in death by his children, Brenda Ruzicka, Scott Ruzicka; parents; and brothers, Jim, Tom, and Bob Ruzicka.
