Bio
Robert Ruzicka, the son of Louis and Mary (Kocian) Ruzicka, was born at Central City, Nebraska, on April 13, 1951, and died at rural Phillips, Nebraska, on August 16, 1998, at the age of 47 years, 4 months, and 3 days. He grew up and attended school in Grand Island. On January 20, 1969, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, and spent two terms in Vietnam. Following his discharge on December 5, 1974, he returned to Grand Island and was employed at Swifts. Later he was engaged in construction at Phillips, and was presently working at 3 D Ammo in Doniphan. On December 14, 1985, he was united in marriage to June Kiser at Phillips. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 nieces, his father-in-law Hurber "Bill" Kiser, a step-grand daughter Marion Marie Moss, and a step-daughter-in-law Mitzi D. (Conroy) Starkey. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife June of Phillips; one son Justin Lee Ruzicka of Kansas; three step-sons, David Lee Starkey of Columbus, Kenneth James Starkey of Phillips, and Gilbert John Starkey of Columbus; a step-daughter Victoria Burnes of Phillips; four brothers, Richard and his wife Jo Ann, James and his wife Lola, John and his wife Judy, and Tom, all of Grand Island, a sister Pat Barr of Brenham, Texas; 2 grandchildren, Chanale Rose Starkey of Spencer, and Mitchell Moss of Columbus.
