David Eugene (Gene) Barnett was born May 8,1938 in Columbia, Ky and passed from this life August 21,2025 in Somerset, Ky. Gene was retired from Apple Valley Resort at which he was the Resident Manager for 35 years. David Eugene (Gene) Barnett was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Josie Barnett, brothers James Barnett and Leon Barnett, sisters Shirley Gilen, Susie York, and Earlene Richardson. Gene is survived by his son David D. Barnett (wife Barbara), his daughter Lisa Grider, his brother Arlo Barnett (wife Ellene), his Sisters Justine Johnson (husband Odell) and Rosa Warriner. He is also survived by his Grandchildren Amber Grider and Heaven Sutton, and three great grandchildren Brayden Grider, Nevaeh Duncan, and Dashawn Duncan. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:00 pm on August 26, 2025 Services will be held at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel Tuesday August 26, 2025, at 1:00 pm with Brother Wendell Roberts officiating. Burial in the Barnett Family Cemetery, 235 Airport Rd., Russell Springs, KY
