When Perry Wilson and his twin brother Pirl were born on August 10, 1922, in Center, Texas, their father, James, was 45, and their mother, Edna, was 31. He married Clara Maxine Yarborough in 1945 in Texas. They had two children during their marriage. He died on August 15, 2008, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 86.
