JAMES TAYLOR WILSON, JR. Funeral services for James Taylor Wilson, Jr., 86, of Ringgold, Louisiana, were held on Friday, January 2, 1998, at 10:00 a.m., at Rockett Funeral Home Chapel. Bro Don Woodard officiated. Burial was held in Providence Cemetery Ringgold, Louisiana under the direction of Rocket Funeral Home. Mr. Wilson was born in Shelby County, Texas to James Taylor Wilson, Sr. and Ida Cornelia O'Banion, September 16, 1911. He died on December 31, 1997. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Wilson; his son, Jimmy Joe Wilson; three brothers; and one sister. Survivors include two sons, Buddy Wilson and wife, Pat and Marvin Wilson and wife, Laura, all of Ringgold, Louisiana; one daughter, Margie Carleton and husband, Tom of Bossier City; four brothers, Fred Wilson, Pete Wilson, Bill Wilson, and Perry Wilson; one step brother, Maurice Stack; four sisters, Vonnie Lee Peace, Ara Douglas, Rena Withers, and Ann Calhoun; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Note: "J.T." Wilson married Irene Nelson, December 5, 1931, in Webster Parish, Louisiana. Officiating Officer was, J.B. Felts, Justice of the Peace. Witnesses were, Mrs. W.E. Tooke, Reuben Peace, and W.E. Tooke. Irene was 19 and Jake was 21 when they were married. Please feel free to send corrections or additional information.
