Bio

A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be missed by all, she died on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, in the "Angel Room" at the Heritage Manor of Baton Rouge. She was 82, a resident of Port Allen and a native of Lecompte. She was a retired school food service employee for West Baton Rouge Parish. Survived by three daughters and one son-in-law; two sons and daughters-in-law of Shreveport; brother of Lecompte; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Willie B. Lamkin; parents Wilks and Lucille McElwee; and two sons-in-law, Anthony Leon and Clem Courville. Funeral services were at the Hixson Brothers, 701 Jackson St., Alexandria, on Saturday Nov. 29, conducted by the Rev. James Womack. Burial followed in Paul Cemetery in Forest Hill. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Paul Cemetery Inc., P.O. Box 744, Lecompte, LA 71346 or to Hospice Life Source Services of Baton Rouge, 3049 S.
