Bio

John Robert Metcalf, Jr., 69, of Marshall, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 5, 2025. He was born on August 28, 1955 in Asheville, NC, to his late parents, John Robert Metcalf, Sr and Betty Lee Metcalf. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Roger Metcalf. John was a loving husband, father and grandpa and he will be greatly missed. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 49 years, Rosemary Smith Metcalf of Marshall, NC; daughter, Crystal Lynn Land (Michael) of Green Cove Springs, FL; son, John David Metcalf of Marshall, NC; four grandchildren, Ethan and Jessica Land, and Dawson and Natalia Metcalf; sisters in-law, Wanda Metcalf of Mars Hill, NC, Wilma Smith of Pikeville, KY, and Cathy Ellis of Pikeville, KY; brothers in-law, Bill Smith (Donna) of Pikeville, KY, and James Smith (Leighann) of Williamson, WV; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
