Mrs. Shirley Ruth Sanders, age 86 of Scottsboro, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at her residence. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Sanders; daughters, LySonya Sanders, Angie Brown; grandchildren, Lee (Amber) Petty, Chanel (Brad) Stephens, Charlton (Emily) Brown, Hunter (Brittney) Brown; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Petty, Asher Petty, Alexander Stephens, Max Stephens, Jessa Brown, Henry Stephens, Maverick Brown, Quinn Stephens, Axel Brown, Selah Brown; brother, Irlen Stephens; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Ira Jackson and Lenis Grace Stephens; brothers, Ongel, Alton, Horace, Vernon Sr., C.T., Varnell, Dathard, and Orville Stephens; sisters, Gladys Rankin, Burndeen Merideth, Shelby Clark, and two deceased infant siblings. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13th, 2025 at the Hytop Holiness Church with Brother Todd Davis and Rev. James A. "Totchie" McLain officiating. Burial will follow in Hytop Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12th, 2025 at Scottsboro Funeral Home and 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13th, 2025 at the Hytop Holiness Church.
