Bio

Daughter of Calvin David "Dave" Curlee and Emily Lyon . Wife of James B. "Jim" Burnett. Betty and Jim obtained a marriage license on January 20, 1876 in Rutherford County TN so were probably married about January 21. Betty's name was probably Elizabeth. Her year of birth is estimated from census records. The exact year she passed away is unknown but had to have been in the year span of 1898-1900. Her last child was born in April 1898 and her husband is reported as a widower in the 1900 census. I know of no records that would give me the exact date she died nor where she is buried. It was most likely either the Curlee Cemetery in Cannon County TN (where her father is buried) or the Lyon Cemetery in Rutherford County TN (where her mother requested to be buried). Less likely, though possible, she may have been buried in Coleman Cemetery (where her husband was buried in 1925) - also in Rutherford County. No headstone has been found. Missing from the links below is Betty and James' son, Azz Berry Burnette .
