Ron Cole, age 72, of Aurora, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Memorial Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 6th at the Chapel of Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Inurnment will be in the Spring. No Visitation. Ronald Eugene Cole, the son of Harold Russell and Jeanice (Sutton) Cole, was born in Osceola, Nebraska on April 12, 1952, and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on December 2, 2024 at the age of 72. Ron grew up in Osceola, where he attended school. Ron worked for Cargill, Stauffer Seeds and retired from IAMS after working there for 18 years. Ron was married to Linda Cole on April 22, 1978 at Aurora. They had four children: Jacki, Kelli, Shawn and Brittany. Linda passed away on January 31, 2000. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids, family get togethers, watching the Huskers, visiting many different restaurants and making practical jokes. Those left to cherish his memory are his four children, Jacki (Patrick) Wall of Hampton, Kelli (Michael) Ingram of Aurora, Shawn Cole of Aurora and Brittany Cole of Grand Island; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Russ Cole of Hordville and Dave Cole of Lincoln; sister, Diane Rice of Lincoln and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Michael Cole and Duane Nitz; great-grandson, Messiah Cain and brother-in-law, Carl Rice.
