Joseph Stephen Aimer, age 86, of Bellmead, passed away Thursday evening, November 7, 2024 at Waco Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Waco. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Friday from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Joseph was born December 25, 1937 in West, the son of John and Annie (Merenda) Aimer. He attended St. Mary's School in West. On June 29, 1963 he was united in marriage to Margaret Kostecka in West. Margaret preceded him in death on September 12, 2024. Joseph was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, SPJST Lodge #6, and the Knights of Columbus Council #7202, all in Bellmead. He worked in the maintenance department for L-3 Communications in Waco until his retirement. Joseph enjoyed going out to eat and traveling to Louisiana and San Antonio. He owned a red and white 1957 Chevrolet Belair that was his pride and joy. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Joseph is also preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ernest, Alfonse "Ike", Albin "Pee Wee", and John Aimer Jr. Survivors include his sister, Frances Barton and husband Edmund; several cousins, including Angeline Urban of West; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
