Bio
Martha Greathouse was born on 5 November 1823 in Pike County, Illinois to John L. and Catherine (Hoover) Greathouse. She was the oldest child and there were nine other children in the household, Mary Margaret (Kennedy), Rebecca M. (Peer), John Calvin, Miriam Mahala (Taggert), Dorcas A. (Johnston), Sarepta G. (Johnson), Martin Luther, william H., and Alexander C. Martha married George Thomas Moore, son of Jacob and Polly (Burns) Moore, on 22 October 1844, in Pike County, Illinois. There were nine children born of their union. The children were John L., Mary Catherine (McKellip), Martha (Badgley), Sarah Ann "Sallie" (Mosier), Jacob C. "Jake," Henry Francis "Frank," George Thomas Jr., and twins William C. and Agnus Eveline Pendecille Moore (Lockaby). Martha Greathouse Moore died on 6 October 1889 in Seagoville, Dallas County, Texas, and is buried beside her husband in the Lee Cemetery.
