WELLINGTON - James "Slick" Fields, 64, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, in Wichita Falls. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen Pierce, pastor of First Baptist Church in Iowa Park, officiating. Burial will be in North Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Mr. Fields was born Nov. 30, 1943, in Childress, to James W. and Myrtle R. Thomas Fields. He was a retired Pepsi distributor. Survivors include a son, Josh Fields of Lubbock; two daughters, Teresa Fields of Iowa Park and Rachel Fields of Amarillo; a sister, Neva Jeffrey of Wellington; a brother, Lavern Fields of Dallas; and a grandson. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Globe-News, June 16, 2008
