Bio
Mannie Stephens, 84, of Flintville, died on Tuesday (Dec. 4, 2007) at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was a native of Winchester and the son of the late Marthie and Ross Stephens, an Army Veteran and a carpenter for TVA. He was preceded in death by two sons, Mannie Joe Stephens and William Stephens; and a daughter, Linda Stephens. Survivors include his wife, Cora Lee Stephens of Elora; sons, Allen Stephens of Winchester and Kenneth Stephens of Elora; daughters, Eva Lee Posey of Winchester, Shirley Smith of Elora, Carolyn Platt of Belvidere, Kathy Morris of Estill Springs and Jo Anne Stephens of Elora; two sisters; two brothers; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday at Moore-Cortner Chapel with the Revs. Ray Gardner and John Gipson officiating. Burial followed in Franklin Memorial Gardens. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
