The Columbus, NE. Daily Telegram, May 27, 1969 BEEKMAN--Arnold Beekman rites Wednesday Arnold Wayne Beekman, 50, died Sunday following a coronary at his home in Drayton, N.D. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Drayton, with Stennes Funeral Home in charge. Burial will be in St. Edward Catholic cemetery at Drayton. He was born June 15, 1918, in Grand Island, the son of Jacob and Mary Beekman, and was married to Clara Wilcynski of Columbus Dec. 17, 1955, at Omaha. Mr. Beekman was employed by the American Crystal Sugar Company in Grand Island until 1965, when he was transferred to Drayton. He was a member of United Methodist church of Grand Island, and was affiliated with the Eagles Lodge there. Surviving are his wife; daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Delene) Miles of Evansville, Ind., and son, Gary Lee, at home; two stepsons, James C. Gaver of Kirkland, Wash., and Robert D. Gaver of Wilmette, Ill; four grandchildren; four brothers, Marvin Beekman of Kearney, Willis of Broken Bow, Robert of Grand Island and Merl of Leadville, Colo.; and two sisters, Mrs. Orlando (Ruby) James of Lincoln and Mrs. Pat (Alice) James of Wolbach. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
