Mayvon Harris GILMER — Services for Mrs. Mayvon Harris, 102, of Gilmer, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Latch Missionary Baptist Church in Upshur County, Texas, with Bro. Donnie Chamberlain and Bro. Brian Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Upshur County under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Harris passed away Tuesday, December 27, in Gilmer. She was born May 29, 1909, the last of 11 children of Thomas Ben and Mattie Carroll Thompson. Mrs. Harris was a Latch resident all her life, a homemaker and a member of Latch Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cecelia Ann and Lawrence Woodle of Latch. Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Harris in 1972; and grandson, David Woodle in 2000. Pallbearers will be Donald Thompson, Wayne Thompson, Mark Thompson, Jerry Moore, James Jones and Timmy Thompson. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, December 30, 2011, at the funeral home.
