Interment will be in Columbus Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Hartman Post 84. Ronald John Jindra was born on November 22, 1947, in Columbus, to Adolph and Lillian (Cerny) Jindra. He grew up in Clarkson, Nebraska and graduated from Clarkson High School in 1967. After high school, he moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he attended the Nebraska Vocational Technical School in Milford, Nebraska, now known as Southeast Community College – Milford campus. He graduated with a degree in machining and tool and die. While attending school, Ron worked a variety of jobs, the most memorable he referred to often was working evenings at Russell Stover. He enjoyed working there because he was able to take home, free of charge, all the "flawed" chocolate candies he wanted if the artisanship wasn't just right and didn't meet the standards of the skilled chocolatiers. On December 29, 1968, Ron was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Marilyn Kucera at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson. He entered the United State Marine Corps in July of 1969. After leaving the military, Ron worked at the meat packing plant in Schuyler, Nebraska for a short time before driving a gravel truck. Not long after driving the truck, he was called back to work at the pack to work in maintenance, working his way up through the years and retired from Cargill after over 40 years of service. Ron was hard working and dedicated to the responsibilities of his job, oftentimes working seven days a week. He took tremendous pride in his job. While there was always something keeping him busy at the plant, Ron felt the most rewarding aspects of his job was being there for his employees. Ron also enjoyed tending to his garden and keeping up the curb appeal of his family's home. On weekends, as the weather warmed up, you'd often find him outside, busy with yard work. Most of all, Ron enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. He never asked anything of them, he just wanted to enjoy their company. Whether it was a brief get-together, to visit and catch up, go for long Sunday drives or packing up the family in their RV to venture off on what always ended up becoming memory-filled family vacations, he loved being with his wife and children, and taking care of them. Ron will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and the perfect dad to two very grateful and thankful kids.
