Mildred Holy Dlabaj, 89, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, in Ennis, Texas. Mildred was born in Creechville, Texas, on October 6, 1934, to Frank L. and Philomena (Svehlak) Holy. Mildred grew up in the Creechville Community and graduated from St. John High School in 1951. On December 30, 1952, Mildred married Albin "Champ" Dlabaj. They made their home in Ennis, and later they moved to Garrett in 1974. Mildred worked for over forty years as a manager for Ennis Business Forms. Mildred was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJZT, KJT, American Legion Auxiliary, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW and The Chosen Few where she was a Legacy Member. Mildred loved spending time with her family, sewing and quilting. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albin "Champ" Dlabaj, son, Michael Dlabaj and son-in-law, Larry Spurgeon. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 10 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father Fred Caldwell as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
