Bio
Michael Anthony Dlabaj, 56, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2014, with Rosary at 7 p.m., in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m., Friday, February 7, 2014, in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father John Dick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Michael was born in Ennis, Texas, to Albin Anton and Mildred Dolores (Holy) Dlabaj. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1976. In September of 2004, Michael married Mary Jane Martinez and they made their home in Bardwell and then in Garrett. He served his country proudly in the United States Marines from 1977 until 1980, serving in Guam. Michael worked for Advanced Plumbing for several years as a plumber, for Elk Corporation, and James Hardie Construction in maintenance. He was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJT and the American Legion. Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Dlabaj, of Ennis; children; step-children; grandchildren; step-grandchildren; parents; sisters; brothers; nieces; nephews; in-laws; other relatives and many friends.
