Bio
Oscar Ellis Shawn was born 26 December 1893 in Agnes, Parker County, Texas to Riley L. Doc and Nora Isabell Head Shawn (Shown). He married Georgia Lockaby on 28 October 1917 in Alma, Stephens County, Oklahoma. There were eight children born of this union. Chilren are Agnes Evelyn (died as an infant), Nora Elizabeth (Cockrell), Orville Houston, Margaret Ann (Gibbs, Tamburo, and Ritter), Buford Allen, Virgie Faye (Eversole), Donald Edward,and a living Son. Oscar Ellis Shawn's siblings were William Edward "Ed," John Carl, and Homer Vester Shawn. He was the last survivor of his immediate family. Oscar died on 12 April 1973, leaving a widow and seven children to mourn his passing plus many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
