Bio

Bob was married to Carlie Bernice Strickland. He served in the United States Army during World WarII. (European Theater) Mr. Ragland moved to Baylor County in 1954 from Young County. Pfc. Samuel R. Ragland, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Ragland, Graham. Entered Army, 1943, trained at Camp Wolters, Camp Gruber, Okla. Served in Scotland, England, France, Belgium and Germany. Awarded GCM, Victory and ETO Ribbon with 2 Battle Stars. Discharged in 1945. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Services for Samuel R. "Bob" Ragland, Jr., 58, of Westover, who died in the Olney hosptial were officiated by Sonny Pyles, pastor of Medlan Chapel Primitive Baptist Church and Harvey McQueen, minister of Church of Christ in Megargel.
