Bio
He was the son of Samuel R. Ragland and Easter Timmons. He married Alene M. Wootton on Dececmber 5, 1947. They had three children; Sharon, Martha and Connie. William E Ragland, 56, was a member of the Methodist Church. He was a retired rancher in the Murray Community. William E Ragland married Alene Wootton in 1947 at Abilene, Texas. Pfc. William E. Ragland was a veteran during World War II. He entered the U.S. Army in 1944, trained at Camp Fannin, Tex. Served in Italy, Germany, France an England. Awarded ETO with 2 Bronze Stars, ATO Ribbon, Purple Heart, GCM, Victor, Combat Inf. Badge. Wounded in Germany. Survived by his wife; three daughters - Sharaon Ransbarger, Martha McClanahan, Connie Hamm; one brother - Don Ragland; two sisters - Dorthea Hartless and Ima Lee Hawkins.
