Bob Carrig was born September 19, 1931 in Platte Center to Donald and Josephine (Evans) Carrig. He grew up in Platte Center and graduated from Platte Center High School. After high school, he joined the Air Force in 1951, where he became a jet mechanic stationed in Texas, Maine and Alaska.
