Bio

Karen Katherine Linden, 79, of Grand Island passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021. Service and celebration of Karen's life will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Abundant Life Christian Center, 3411 W Faidley Ave., Grand Island. Burial of ashes will be in Westlawn Cemetery. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Karen was born May 31, 1942 at Platte Center, NE, the daughter of Donald and Josephine (Evans) Carrig. She grew up in Platte Center and Columbus. Karen wasn't able to finish attending school after 9th grade, but in 1982, her twin daughters graduated and Karen proudly received her GED. Karen married Ernie Drummond, and twin daughters, Terri and Cindy, were born to this marriage. On February 21, 1989, Karen married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Linden. She was employed for 25 years with the Grand Island Veterans Administration, retiring in 1995. She continued volunteering at the VA Hospital and the Veterans Home and was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary, a group she served as State President from 2005-2006. Karen was also a member of the Chapman United Methodist Church, the Elks DOES, the MOC Auxiliary (Military Order of the Cootie), a group that she had just been inducted as MOCA National Supreme President. Karen was also an avid card player. Karen's memory will be cherished by her twin daughters, Terri (Troy) Journey of Wood River and Cindy (Troy) Wampole of Grand Island. In her marriage to Robert Linden, she also welcomed her stepchildren, Rhonda (Kevin) Jenkins of Grand Island, Jeff Linden of California and Kecia (Scott) Spofford of Gretna. Karen is also leaving behind nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and her brother, Robert (Charollette) Carrig of Columbus. She is also survived by her special friends, Les and Marilyn Brodigan and Deb and Doug Cramer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob in 2017; her parents; 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
