Jeanette S. Lawson was born August 5, 1871, in Yowell, Delta, Texas, USA, to Zachariah (Zachery) & Emmaline Chaffin (Millsaps Neal) Lawson. Jeanette's siblings, found by this researcher to-date, are: - Sister - Ettie Lawson (b. 1875) - Sister - Alta Lawson (b. 1878) Jeanette met and married Jasper James (J. J.) Yates Sr. (I've also seen his middle name referenced as Jeptha) on January 23, 1887 in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins, Texas, USA, and there were eight children of this union, found to-date: - Son - Reuben Allen Yates (1887 - 1962) - Unknown Child (b. between 1888 & 1894) - Unknown Child (b. between 1888 & 1894) - Dau - Stella Alberta Yates (1894 - 1972) - Son - Jasper James (Junior) Yates Jr. (1896 - 1971) - Dau - Dolly Yates (1896 - ?) - Son - Jesse Ben Yates (1899 - 1969) - Son - Jack Yates (? - ?) Jeanette & J. J. Yates separated / divorced about 1900, and Jeanette then married John M. Hammons on November 16, 1902. There were six children from this union, found to-date: - Dau - Mamie Iona Hammons Davis (1903 - 1961) - Son - Marion Zachariah (Zack or Bud) Hammons (1905-1988) - Dau - Tennie Lee Hammons Bailey (1908 - 1964) - Son - Carl Earnest Hammons Sr. (1913 - 1994) - Dau - Pauline Hammons (? - ?) - Son - Aubrey T.
