Bio

Jasper James (J. J.) Yates was the son of Thomas Keeling Yates (1829 - 1863) & Adeline Elizabeth Helm (1832 - 1863). He wed Jeanette S. Lawson January 23, 1887. They had six children: Reuben Allen Yates (Dec 27 1887 - Mar 6 1962) Stella Alberta Yates (Mar 30 1894 - Mar 31 1972) Jasper James Yates Jr. (Apr 28 1896 - Mar 1 1971) Dolly Yates (May 12 1898 - ?) Jesse Ben Yates (Aug 14 1899 - Mar 25 1969) Jack Yates (? - ?) Provided by j*. I guess Jasper had to return to Oklahoma. My great-grandmother; Mattie, his sister was born here. The census through the years found many Yates families living in Oklahoma in Indian Territory. Jasper himself was living here on the 1900 Census. Provided by Maredia
