"Bud" Hammons, 82, of Commerce, will be at 2 p.m. today in Jones Memorial Chapel with Rev. Roy Lee Dittmar officiating. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery. Mr. Hammons died Friday morning in a Dallas hospital. He was born Nov. 23, 1905, in Hopkins County, to John and Jeanett Lawson Hammons. He was married in 1924 to Ruby Gladys Mason, who preceded him in death in 1946. He married Lela Perkins March 11, 1950, in Commerce. He was a member of College Street Baptist and a retired farmer and stockman. Survivors include his wife, of Commerce; three sons, J.L. Hammons of Lone Oak, Billy Wayne Hammons of Cumby and Jackie Hammons of Garland; three daughters, Mary Williams of Commerce, Geanna Williams of Fort Worth and Darva Hall of Mesquite; three stepsons, Vernon Young of Snyder, Leland Young of Greenville and Paul Young of Fort Worth; two brothers, Carl Hammons of Greenville and Audrey Hammons of Dallas; one sister, Pauline Kinnemer of Dallas; 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
