Mrs. Opal Jean (Perkins) Carroll, age 71, of Winnfield, La., passed away Friday, October 12, 2007, at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, La. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Monroe James Perkins and the late Maedella (Bass) Perkins. Mrs. Carroll was also preceded in death by her sister, Theda Rose Sain; and brother, Leo Perkins. She is survived by her husband Claude Carroll of Winnfield, La.; One Son, William Carroll of Winnfield, La One Daughter, Gail Smith of Baton Rouge, La. One Granddaughter, Kasey Carroll of Denton, Texas One Grandson, Eric Carroll of Denton, Texas One Great-Granddaughter, Katie Wilkins of Denton, Texas Three Brothers, Hubert Perkins of Brownwood, Texas Frank Perkins of Lake Ochochobie, Fla. Marshall Perkins of Pensecola, Fla. Merlyn Perkins of Ft. Worth, Texas Three Sisters, Sybil Martin of DeRidder, La. Sue Perkins of Hurst, Texas Donice Gentry of Hurst, Texas Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday, October 15, 2007. Friends may also visit with the family at Faith Baptist Church in Winnfield from 11:00 AM to service time Tuesday, October 16, 2007. Funeral services will be held at Faith Baptist Church at 2:00 PM Tuesday, with Rev. Bob Tuggle and Rev. Aaron Gowens officiating. Interment will be at Garden Of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield, La.
