From Sarah Stead May 18, 1960 Sunday Rites Scheduled for A. H. Bishop A. H. (Abb) Bishop, 72, died Friday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. E. Wood of Sardis. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Boze-Mitchell funeral home with Rev. Jack Haynie of Forreston and Rev. J. W. Sellers of Maypearl officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Burial Park. Mr. Bishop, who was born near Athens on March 21, 1888, had lived in Ellis County around Waxahachie for over 50 years. For the past 15 years he had ranched at Chico. While in Ellis County, he had farmed at Oak Branch, Buena Vista and Telico. Mr. Bishop, a Methodist, became a member of that church in 1901 at Tehuacana. Survivors include his widow; two sons, Edwin Bishop of Ennis and Bobby Joe Bishop of Chico; a daughter, Mrs. J. E. Wood; a grandchild; two brothers, John Bishop of Fort Worth and Dick Bishop of Waxahachie; and two sisters, Mrs. Atsy Parks of Waxahachie and Mrs. Ida Moore of California.
