OBITUARY CLARION DEMOCRAT,1929 Herbert H.Cyphert,one of Clarion well known and highly esteened citizens,died at the Bashline Hosp. in Grove City shortly afternoon on Thursday,Dec.19,1929,after an illness of almost a yr.He was aged 58 yrs.The body was brought to Clarion the same day.but funeral arranement are not yet completed.(DEC.6,1929) Our community was saddened last Thursday,Dec.18,1929,when the word reached Clarion that Herbert H.Cyphert,who had gone to the Bashline Hosp.at Grove City a few wks.previous for observation and treatment or operation if advisable,had passed away that day at half past one o.clock p.m. in the hosp.after an sickness of almost a yr. duration from a complication of diseases.Mr.Cyphert was one of the best well known and very popular citzens of the town and his demise caused great sorrow with many people. He was born at Perryville,Pa.on Nov.7,1871,son of Anthony and Ellen Cyphert.His parents both preceded him to the grave.Mr.Cyphert was united in marriage with Miss Alice S.McClain,of Clarion,dau.of Mr.and Mrs.Robert McClain. survives him with following children,Wm. A.,Paul H.,Mrs.W.E.Geist,Herbert G.,and Guy T.Cyphert,all of Clarion;Mrs.R.M.Kahle,Oil City,Mrs.R.J.Clarke,Olean,N.Y.,Mrs.A.Poulain,Cleveland.His surviving brothers and sisters are as follows;B.O.Cyphert,Mrs.J.M.Runyan,and Mrs.W.M.Williams,all of Clarion,Mrs.Frank Brown,Pitts.,Mrs.A.A.Turner,Clearfield,and A.R.Cyphert,Jr.,Oil City.His funeral serves were conducted at his late home on Fifth Aeen.,by his pastor,Rev.Dr.Thomas J.Logan,last Sunday afternoon at 2:30pm.,his Odd Fellows brethren attending in a body with a large concourse of other people.At the grave in Clarion Cemetery his brethren odd fellows deposited his body in the last resting place using their beauitful ritual.
