The death certificate shows the death date as 20 July 1971. Montgomery Simpson is the 2nd husband of Leona. She was first married to Benjamin Summers. They had 3 children: Robert Neuborn, J.C. and Maggie Blanch. She and Montgomery had 3 children: Clarence T., Bettie J., and Mona L. ∼ Services for Mrs. Leona Simpson were held in Sanders Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Simpson died 20 July 1971 in Ray's Hospitality Home. She moved to Lubbock in 1961 after living most of her life in O'Donnell. She was a member of Southside Baptist church. Surviving are three sons - Jack Summer, Clarence Simpson, Billy Simpson; four daughters - Mrs. Margaret Golden, Mrs. Betty Romines, Mrs. Mona Tucker, Mrs. Fern Walker; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
