Bio

Frank Alvin Kotrla of Baytown, TX, passed away on February 19, 2023 at the age of 98. He was born in West, Texas on March 9, 1924 to Rudolph F. and Julia Kotrla. Frank had a career in the Oil Field industry, working for Halliburton and helped start Roywell Services Co. in Baytown. He had a passion for hunting and working on things. Frank loved country music. He was a member of the Sunset Playboys band in the 50's and he loved singing and playing bass fiddle. He was a member of Old River Masonic Lodge #1442, Arabia Shrine in Houston, TX, and Baytown Shrine Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Julia Kotrla and his 12 brothers and sisters; and his wife Gladys Kotrla. He is survived by daughters, Betty Weber and husband Paul, Elaine Swindull, Connie Clark and husband Benny; son, Robert Kotrla; grandchildren, David Weber and wife Yelleni, Danny Weber and wife Kenda, Francis Ray " Scooter" Swindull, III, Bodie Clark and wife Krystle, Robert Clark and wife Treasia; great grandchildren, Taylor Clark, Blaize Clark,Reece Clark, Lilly Clark, Audrianna Weber, Micaela Weber, Henna Weber; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members; and his wonderful caregiver, Anita Booth. Visitation will take place at Navarre Funeral Home on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 5:00 pm -8:00 pm, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Navarre Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cedarcrest Cemetery.
