Bio

Lorene McCorkle Woodall, 92, of Hubbard, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at a Mexia hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, February 29, at Wade Funeral Chapel in Hubbard with the Rev. Jerry Irvin and the Rev. Timothy Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Lorene was born in Hill County, Texas, to the late George and Daisy (Vardeman) Hammer. She lived most of her life in the Mount Calm area and was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church of Mount Calm. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John McCorkle; her second husband, Gene Woodall; a brother, Maurice Hammer; and sisters, Alline Gilstrap and Juanita Carr. Survivors include her brother, Travis Hammer, of Waco; sisters, Wynelle Hammer and Christine James, both, of Waco; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
