Ida Christine “Crick” James, 95, of Waco, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. Catherine’s Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Thursday, July 7 at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard. Ida will lie in state Wednesday, July 6 from 9 to 3 pm at OakCrest Funeral Home for those wishing to pay their respects. Ida was born May 24, 1921 in Hill County to parents, George and Sally (Vardeman) Hammer. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Franklin C. James and son, Michael James; her parents; brothers, Maurice Hammer and Travis Hammer; sisters, Alline Gilstrap, Juanita Carr, Lorene Woodall, and Wynelle Hammer. She is survived by her grandson, Matthew Michael James and wife, Katherine; granddaughter, Kathryn Christine Herron and husband, Alex; great grandchildren, Zoey Abigail James and Coraline Rose Herron; and nieces and nephews, Clarence, Tommy, J Obituary published online by OakCrest Funeral Home, Waco, Texas, on 3 July 2016.
