Patricia "Pat" (Mashek) Lassetter, age 77, of West, passed away early Saturday morning, August 13, 2022 at her residence, surrounded by her family. Memorial Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at St. Mary's Cemetery near West, with Rev. Paul Hudson officiating. Pat was born August 3, 1945 in Waco, the youngest of three children born to Ed "Bearkat" and Mary (Grimm) Mashek. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School and West High School. On March 22, 1968 she was united in marriage to Larry Lassetter Sr. in West. Pat was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She enjoyed volunteering at the History of West Museum and working on all the special exhibits. Her entire life was centered around her family, she loved spending time with them and was very proud of her grandsons, Damian and Derian, and all their accomplishments they achieved while growing up. She took great pride in the fact Damian graduated from Baylor University and Derian graduated from the McLennan Community College Fire Academy and Emergency Medical Technician program. Her selfless and loving presence amongst her family will truly be missed. Pat is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Patti Lynn Merritt; her sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Dan Popp; and a brother, Ed Mashek, Jr. Survivors include her beloved husband of 54 years, Larry Lassetter of West; a son, Larry Lassetter Jr. and his wife Amanda of Abbott; her grandsons, Damian Lassetter and Derian Lassetter and his fiancée, Carolyn Timmins; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
