Marie Hickl Published: Monday, February 1, 2010 8:40 AM CST, El Campo Leader News Marie Nemec Hickl, 96, of West Columbia, formally of Blessing, passed away on Jan. 29, 2010. She was born on Sept. 11, 1913 in Mineola to Karl and Eufrasina Fojtik Nemec. She was a homemaker and a member of KJZT and St. Anne's Altar Society. Marie is survived by daughters, Ann Bilicek and husband Jerry of Taiton, Marianne Holliday and husband Kenneth of San Antonio, Elizabeth Taylor and husband Theodore of West Columbia and Mildred Borak and husband Donald of Sugar Land; sons, William J. Hickl Jr. and wife Patricia of Stafford, Charles Hickl and wife Betty Jo of Lake Jackson, Francis Hickl and wife Linda of Lake Jackson and Anthony Hickl and wife Sharon of Lake Jackson; sisters, Annie Kana of Stafford, Agnes Klekar of Luling and Georgia Dorotik of Taiton; brothers, Joe Nemec of Bay City and Richard Nemec of Katy, 24 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William J. Hickl Sr.; daughter, Georgia Urbanovsky; sister, Elizabeth Pesak and brothers, Anton and Charlie Nemec. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 2 from 2-4 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home and from 6-7 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Samuel Appiasi officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Peters Catholic Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers are Jerry Bilicek Jr., Merlin Urbanovsky, William Hickl III, Charles Hickl Jr., Mark Taylor and Christopher Borak. Honorary pallbearers are Jeffery Hickl, Chad Hickl and Mitch Holliday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Oblate Missions, P.O. Box 659437, 323 Oblate Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78265-9437. Funeral services are under the direction of Triska Funeral Home, El Campo.
