Bio

Mary Caroline Stephenson was the daughter of Ruth C Ramsey and John L Stephenson. She was probably born in Hopkins Co, Texas. Her parents moved to Hopkins Co, Texas in 1848 or early 1849 and lived in the Bethel area until 1853. Then they moved to Grayson Co, Texas and lived there until 1861. They sold their property in Grayson County and returned to Hopkins County. She married Francis Marion Payne in Hopkins Co, Tx on Feb 28, 1867. They had 9 children.
