Bio
Venona Fay Burkett of Clovis, gained her heavenly wings on July 19th, 2022. Visitation will be held Thursday July 21, 2022 at Muffley Funeral Home Chapel, 1430 Thornton, Clovis, from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. Funeral services will be held Friday July 22, 2022 at Westbrook Baptist Church, 1420 N Thornton St, Clovis, at 10:00AM with Pastor Furgus Tunnell officiating. Burial to follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Anthony Aragon, Michael Riggins, Prince Walker, Adam Aragon, P.D. Whitley and Taz Dietz will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Whitley, Harvey Lee Whitley and Mike Riggins. Fay was born to Nora Fay and Henry Grady Spence on July 29th, 1930 in Fort Worth Texas and she was the oldest of 10 children. In 1947 she married the one and only love of her life Harvey Burkett. Together they had 3 daughters, Virginia, Barbara, and Carolyn. In 1978 they settled in Clovis and became members of Prince Street Baptist church where she was the church secretary, Sunday school teacher, and lead vacation Bible school. She was employeed at Furr's Cafeteria for 23 years as a baker and everyone loved her pies. When her husband became ill in 2004 she retired to stay home and take care of him. She later became a member of Westbrook Baptist church and absolutely adored her church family. She always said they were wrapped around her heart. Fay is survived by 2 daughters, Virginia Pace of Nevada and Barbara (Doug) Whitley of Clovis, New Mexico. She has 7 grandchildren, Barbie (Mike) Riggan, Debbie (Anthony) Aragon, Perry (Heather) Whitley, Harvey Lee (Laurie) Whitley, all of Clovis, Angie Pace of Nevada, April Pace of Arizona, and Sharmain Hunter of NM, 15 Great-grandchildren, 11 Great-Great- grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Westbrook Baptist Church. The family will be gathered at 2904 Sheridan, Clovis, NM.
