JoNelda (Jo) Williams Blalock passed away unexpectedly on June 13th, 2022. She is survived by her children, Dana Blalock Hughes (Matt), Kevin Blalock (Lori) and Julie Blalock-McFalls (Rick), and her grandchildren David Hughes, Karley and Karson Blalock and Bryson and Dylan Hardin. Jo was raised in Jamestown, TN, one of 8 children of Gladys and Guy Williams. She graduated from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, where she met Sid, her soulmate of 58 years. Jo was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. As part of a large family, she remained close to her siblings and their families, and was a mentor to her many nieces and nephews. She had a generous spirit and served on numerous boards and committees in both Sevier and Knox Counties. She was extraordinarily talented and had an eye for design. Her biggest passions were creating beautiful moments and spaces around her home and garden, traveling the world with Sid, and cheering on the Vols. Jo was always active, a true competitor on the tennis court and quick to take a group to the top of Bluff Mountain on an all-terrain vehicle. Her energy and spirit of adventure made her fun to be around and often hard to keep up with. Always on the go, and always with style. Jo will be greatly missed by her family and friends, and we are all comforted that she is at peace with her loving husband. Jo was Sid's greatest support in his many endeavors and Sid was Jo's greatest ally. They were perfectly matched and all who knew them saw their strong marriage and the foundation it created for a fulfilling life. Together, they built a legacy of memories that are embedded in the hearts of all who knew them. Dana, Kevin and Julie appreciate Rev. Clay Harrington, Rev. Scott Jackson, David Ogle and Chris Blue for their love and support in honoring their mother. A service will be held to celebrate Jo's life on Monday, June 20 at 6pm at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 3pm-6pm at the church. Family and friends will meet Tuesday morning at Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 9am interment. Pallbearers Bryson Hardin, Dylan Hardin, Karson Blalock, David Hughes, Doug Blalock, John Rose, Rod Williams, Ryan Yantz, Wink Neal. Honorary Pallbearers David Branam, Jimbo Conner, Max Hamilton, Tyler Huskey, David Kugley, Mark McKinnon, John Rose, and Tom Shaw.
