Transcription of Obituary from The Bryan Eagle, Tuesday, 16 Oct. 1984 Deward [sic] Garner Buna--Deward Garner, 70, of Buna died in a Kirbyville hospital Sunday. Services will be at 10 a. m. Wednesday in Callaway-Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Martin of Fort Worth officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be in Steep Hollow Cemetery under the auspices of Cedar Creek Lodge No. 300 AF&AM of Kurten. Garner, born in Brazos Copunty, had lived in the Port Arthur area since 1958. He was a retired pipefitter and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Lola Garner of Buna; a son, Donald Garner of Nederland; two brothers, Altus Garner, Lamar Garner, both of Bryan; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
