Missouri and husband, Lemuel, died between 01 Dec 1875 and 15 July 1879, believe most likely from consumption (tuberculosis) or pneumonia, which many were dying of during this time. 1870-1880 the Missouri Mortality Schedules record over 1,000 deaths in 35-45 age group alone, for both consumption and pneumonia. Probably unlikely, but even though they are not listed, another possibility resulting in their deaths could be the 1 June 1878 cyclone that destroyed much of Richmond, killing 11, seriously wounding 75, with hundreds being injured and losing their homes. After their deaths, Lemuel's mother, Margaret ROBERTS , was appointed Guardian (on 15 July 1879) of their children (Lillie, Ora E. and William T.*) and 'curator of the estate of the minor children, heirs of Lemuel Williams'. No obituary could be found - In checking with Ray County Genealogical Society, newspapers are missing for period of July 3-July 24, 1879. The Court meets once a month - July 15th was date met, so assuming deaths occurred between 4 July - 14 July, 1879. *William was raised by his aunt, Mariah (Slater) DeMasters
