VERNON LEWIS SUNDSTROM August 25, 1929 - November 19, 2017 Vern Sundstrom peacefully went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 19,2017. He was a hard working man who built two homes in Nebraska then brought his family to California in 1956. He settled in Newark, CA working as a Teamster Bakery Route Driver in the Bay Area. Vern was a lifelong flea market enthusiast, and avid water skier and loved the Delta. In 1972 he moved to Stockton and became the proud owner of the Middle River Inn. In his later years he lived with his son and daughter-in-law in Brentwood. Vern loved the Lord and thanked God everyday for his children and their mother. He cherished spending time with family, joking, reminiscing, and watching his great-grandchildren. He spent every Wednesday watching family and friends bowl at Dublin Bowl. Grandpa Vern was admired by all as he positively impacted everyone with his warm smile, caring heart, and fun personality. Vern is survived by his son Michael Sundstrom (Linda), daughter Kathy Long (Tom). daughter Mary Fanek (Fawaz). 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A private Celebration of his Life will be held with family and friends on December 10, 2017 Published in The Record on Nov. 26, 2017
