{ Obituary - Courtesy of the Campbell Funeral Home, Spur, TX } Robert Lee Copeland was born on February 20, 1934 in Hill County, Texas to Willie Francis and Donnie Mallie Lloyd Copeland. He was the youngest of nine children. He lost his father at a young age, and the family eventually moved into the Dickens County area. He married Wanda Wright on June 11, 1955 in Dickens, Texas. She preceded him in death in February 2003, after over 47 years of marriage. Bob and Wanda settled onto a farm in the Afton area in February, 1966, where they remained, raised two daughters, lots of calves (some with bottles), and dryland crops. They were farmers, ranchers, custom harvesters, and custom farmers. They worked hard to provide for their family, and Bob continued farming until his very last day, July 21, 2012, when he went to sleep and departed this life to be with his Lord and loved ones in Heaven. Left behind to rejoice through our tears in loving memories are his niece and close friend, Doris Reams of Afton, TX, two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Doug Meador of Ozona, TX, and Susan Copeland and Terry Pardue of Jayton, TX, two honorary daughters, Charlene Wyant of Levelland, TX; Brenda Leighton of Waco, Texas, an honorary son, Jim Stephens of Nacogdoches, TX, two grandchildren, Doug Meador, Jr. of Houston, TX, and Sherri Thomas of Childress, TX, six beautiful great-grandchildren, and one brother, Audie Junior Copeland of Irving, TX. Bob is now reunited with his beloved wife, his parents, three sisters, four brothers and other family and friends. Family visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday, July 22,2012, at Campbell Funeral Home in Spur, TX, and a celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 am Monday, July 23,2012 at Campbell Funeral Home Chapel in Spur, TX with C. L. Atkinson under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
