Benjamin Harold Philbrick, 93, of Grants Pass died Oct. 31, 2021, at Regency Care Rogue Valley. Arrangements by Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Grants Pass Daily Courier Nov 11, 2021 December 11, 1927 ~ October 31, 2021 Our Dad, Benjamin (Harold) Philbrick, passed away on October 31, 2021, after a full life of 93 years. Harold was born to Benjamin Harrison and Amelia Teresa Stile on December 11, 1927, in Ord, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, of 66 years (and 1 day), who passed in 2015; one brother, Theodore Philbrick; and his sister, Viola Pinney. Harold was a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division in WWII and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He also served in the Korean War. In the early 1950s, after a stop in Grants Pass, he and Louise decided that with the beauty and the climate that it would be an ideal place to live. Still filled with a desire to serve his country, he joined the Grants Pass City Police Department where he worked as a Patrolman for 27 years, retiring in 1988. Harold's greatest joy was camping and fishing with Louise on the Oregon lakes, Hyatt, Howard Prairie, Tenmile and, in later years, Lost Creek. For his after-work pastime, he repaired and rebuilt small engines (lawnmowers and tillers) out of his garage. He is survived by his brother, Franklin Philbrick (Montrose, Colorado); daughter, Nancy Costanzo and her husband, Chuck (Grants Pass); son, Douglas Philbrick (Everett, WA); granddaughter, Megan Costanzo (Rex) (Grants Pass); and grandson Tony Costanzo (Alicia) (Eugene). He is survived by a brother in-law, Leonard Ruzowski and sister-in-law, Edna Battiato, both in Nebraska, as well as many nieces and nephews. At his request, there will be no service and his ashes will be scattered at his and Louise's favorite place to fish, Lost Creek Lake, near Grants Pass.
