Otilie A. (nee Cervenka) Lindemann, 95, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at the LBJ Medical Center with her family at her side, 18 days before her 96th birthday. Born to William and Mary Cervenka on October 25, 1922 in Granger, Texas, Tillie married Alfred “Cotton” Lindemann in June 1939. She is preceded in death by her husband Alfred, Daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jim Schnell; son-in-law, Delman Barker, grandson-in-law, Bobby Pietsch. She was the 8th child of eleven children, six brothers and four sisters and their spouses who also preceded her. She is survived by her daughter, Anna Barker of Blanco and her son, Fred Lindeman and his wife Peggy of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister-in-law, Martha Cervenka of Granger and Mary Scott husband Art Brucks and family of Burleson, Texas; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Tillie was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church which she volunteered many hours for their fund raising dinners and a lifelong member of K.J.Z.T. Catholic Organization. Tillie worked hard all her life; held three jobs at the same time for many years. She retired from the L.B.J. I.S.D. after thirty years service and from the J.C. Post Office and Johnson City Bank. Tillie also baked many pies and cakes for the Johnson City Fire Department... Tillie loved her flowers and going fishing. She loved going on gambling trips to Nevada, Louisiana and Texas. All her relatives looked forward to her birthday cards as she always sent a stick of Juicy Fruit gum. The children and grandchildren looked forward to their birthday and Christmas cards, they knew she was sending them cash. Mama Tillie was a very loving and caring person. She put everyone’s needs above her own; she touched many lives and will be greatly missed. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City with a Rosary to be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2018, at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church located at 100 N. Brazos, Granger, TX, 76530.
