Katie Lou Stanley April 19, 1932 - September 25, 2021 Croley Funeral Home Katie Lou Stanley, 89, of Ore City, Texas, passed away on September 25, 2021, in Longview, Texas. Katie was born on April 19, 1932 in Harrison County to the late James and Delia Knight Simmons. She married Bobby Joe Stanley in 1948 and was married for 39 years, until his death in 1987. Katie worked for Ore City ISD and was a dedicated homemaker, she was also a longtime member of the Coffeeville Missionary Baptist Church. Katie is survived by her sons, Bobby Gene Stanley, Joe Randall Stanley, and Ivan S. Stanley; daughter, Sharon Anne Maxwell; brothers, J.D., Joe and Gary Simmons, sister, Nellie Jean Clark; 17 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Stanley, her son, Jimmy Ray Stanley, 8 siblings, and parents. A graveside service for Ms. Stanley will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Ashland Cemetery with Johnny Simmons, Robert Keith, and Jack Hoffpauir officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:00 PM on Thursday, at Croley Funeral Home.
