Mrs. Gloria Nadine Comstock Murphy Feb 19, 1939 - Sep 1, 2021 The Murphy family sorrowfully announces the passing of Gloria Nadine Comstock Murphy, age 82 a lifelong resident of Rosinton, Alabama who passed away on September 1, 2021. She attended Robertsdale High School (Valedictorian), Huntingdon College (music scholarship) and was a lifetime member of Rosinton United Methodist Church. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Herman Augustus Murphy; her father, John Robert Comstock Sr.; her mother, Georgia Louise Cooper Comstock McMillan; her brothers Johnny Comstock, Steve Comstock, Sidney McMillan and a sister Sandra Comstock Ray. She is survived by a sister, Deborah Burton; Two children, Miriam Boone (Jeff) and David Murphy (Sandra); Six grandchildren, Melissa Allen, Shannon Boutwell, Joshua Boutwell, Daniel Murphy, Christopher Murphy and Sarah Murphy, and; Six great-grandchildren, Alex Boutwell, Serenity Covington, Annie Nata, Lucas Murphy, Hannah Murphy, Case Murphy and Ethan Murphy. Gloria was a talented musician and vocalist. She sang with the Mobile Opera and attended Huntingdon College on a music scholarship. She loved her church, Rosinton United Methodist, and devoted her life to serving on various committees as well as being the Youth Director for most of her lifetime and served as Lay Minister for many years. She also served as Youth Counselor at various Camp Meetings. Her trip to the Holy Land was a high point of her life. She was a bookkeeper by trade and her last public job was at Baldwin Rural Area Transportation System (BRATS). She was an excellent cook, loved children, grand-children, great-grandchildren and her "Rosinton Youth," gardening, puzzles, fishing, the beach and travelling. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 at Mack Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10:00 at Rosinton United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Shell Banks Cemetery, Fort Morgan, Alabama immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rosinton United Methodist Church Youth Group.
